Day 15, Friday June 7th:

We left early from San Diego to try to beat traffic on our way to LAX to pick up our next companion, Evan.  However, fortunately and unfortunately for us, we missed the experience of LA traffic and ended up arriving at the airport two hours early.  Once Evan’s plane had arrived, Keith readied his giant 70-200mm II f/2.8 lens, leading others at baggage claim to believe that someone famous was on their way, but was only trying to take a picture of Evan arriving.

After roaming the airport parking lots for what seemed like forever because Jeremy forgot where he parked the car, Jeremy informed Evan that there would be no room in the car for him or his luggage because the sweatshirts and $100 worth of rugs Jeremy and Keith purchased in Arizona were more important than him.  Following a quick maneuver of all the luggage and seats, we somehow managed to cram in Evan and then proceeded to Keith’s cousin Ben’s house, where we would be staying in his absence.  A quick stop there to empty the car of all luggage (leaving the sweatshirts and rugs in car just in case the car breaks down and we started to freeze in Southern California…) and we were off to Nickelodeon Studios to see a filming of Keith’s uncle’s new show “Sam & Cat”.  There we got to see the magic of television being made right before our eyes, and even got to hang out with some of the stars and other characters from the episode.

Afterwards, Keith’s aunt and uncle took us out for a sushi dinner where we shared stories about our lives, learned about some our favorite television shows from growing up, and were regaled in some of Keith’s most embarrassing moments.  Keith’s uncle, being somewhat of a sushi connoisseur, ordered for the entire table, providing us the ability to try many things we would have never thought of had we been on our own, such as Ankimo (Monk Fish liver) and Dynamite Scallops.  After dinner the kindness of Keith’s family continued as they invited us back to their house for drinks and to relax in their hot tub.  We all drank some extremely nice scotch and relaxed in the hot tub for a couple of hours before calling it a night.
