Day 25, Monday June 17th:
We left the hostel at 6am in a hope to get to Coos Bay,
Oregon by the afternoon. Keith needed a
quick stop at Philz on our way out in order to get a couple more cups of
coffee. We stumbled upon a popular diner
for lunch called the Black Bear Diner in order to take a short break from the
drive.
We arrived in Coos Bay at 5pm where we met up with Rob who was kind enough to house us for the night. After settling in Rob took us to Old Bandon to check out the harbor, and tried to find Face Rock and the Wizard’s Hat. We walked up and down the beach but could not quite decide which rock was Face Rock. Regardless the area was beautiful and peaceful even during overcast. From there Rob was able to get us onto Bandon Dune’s golf course, where he works, and let us play out 9 holes. The links style golf course was incredible.
As we were playing Rob informed us that the golf resort we were playing at is considered one of the best in the world. Keith and Jeremy were humbled to be allowed to play on such an exquisite course. Rob played flawlessly while Jeremy and Keith struggled to keep up.
The evening rounded out with an exceptional dinner at the clubhouse and heading back to Rob’s place to hang out.
